Thanks again Al, sorry about the stakeout. The car pulled hard the whole way home. We'll see you next time for some alcohol.

Thanks guys for the great time and super support again in Chicago - I appreciate it !

Highlights of the weekend included :

1 - Police stake out and bust

2 - Tuning or trying to tune a Evo with a spare tire donut - suprizingly stable actucally. But discovering that the guy had been vitimized by being sold the same nasty "custom" exhuast that I had previously encountered in Florida. This unit had a giant 5" tip but actually necks down to a tiny 1" tube through the muffler. The back pressure is so extreme that the car wont make any power over 4500 rpms. The previous "owner" of this fine unit had managed to "transfer" it for $500 to the new unsuspecting customer who them was unable to get custom tuned due to the exhuast - despite having driven 2 hours and gotten a flat on the way.

3 - The guy who came for a custom tune on his newly purchased Evo which he had bought used for a good eal but which had been hacked to death by the previous owner and which would hold no boost.

4 - Cosmin who's wife claimed to get "wet pants" after she went for a ride in the newly tuned evo.

5 - The Doctor who came for a tune with his alcohol kit half installed - and with no alcohol - yet being able to run a vacum hose through the side window - rig up some power get some alcohol and a tool from sears and have his fmic pipe blow off and STILL get his car tuned and running like a swiss watch in less than 2 hours. (I felt like I was working on a NASCAR PIT team)

6 - The dude who waits till Sunday when I am headed to the airport to request his free update flash and then hangs up on me when I ask him why he didnt come by Friday or Satuday.

7. The chick at the local gas staion who's breasts poped out of her halter top when she leaned over to pick up her keys.

8 - The smile of the Chinese Food delivery boy who just recieved the "V3" boost controlling base flash on his red evo as he was leaving after his post tune test drive. That smile said it all to me - worth all the travel and tribulations and bumps along the road of a long week.

Enjoy the power guys and look out for them cops !

Peace Al out

Cool! I'm thinking about the alky kit as well. Noticeable power difference?? Did you upgrade your head studs?

Thanks.

studs are a must. Very noticable power difference, 25-26 psi is nice!

Thanks. I'm still debating on the studs due to some of the opinions in here.

What's the story about the police bust? I always kinda wondered about that with street tuning.

Al- Can I use my $75 deposit that I paid to pick up a MBC from you? If so, let me know what I owe and I'll get it paypal'ed right away.
Thanks
Robb

The police activity actually had nothing to do with the tuning - which is realtive mild - straight line 45 mph to 75 mph on the highway

Actually it was the road slalom that existed directly down the road from the meeting ground which proved to be irresistable

Sometimes its more fun "testing" these cars that you can imagine or I could explain

After some negotiations and discussions with the kindly officers it was decided that we would test all the cars outside Shamberg or where ever we were. Actually, the cops we very helpful they even gave me directions to better areas to test the cars where there was no cops. They just did not want us in that area as some business in the area had complained after like the 15th time we drove sideways back and forth through the slalom

Next time I come there I am going to move operations more out into the subaurban areas

The best Police story of late was actually this week in Palm Beach when I was tuning Jeff's car and got on it a bit down the road headed towards the hotel after the tune was over - (who could resisit the alcohol injection one last time?) - Anyway the cop pull sin behind us and tells Jeff "Tell your choufer to slow that peice of s**t the F**k down, thanks"
