my car started running lean

Hey al, i thught that i had a boost leak and tired the home made leak finder. When I took off my intake (HKS RS) i noticed that it was really dirty and full of a thick oil/dirt substance. I tried the leak tester with no avail of it to push air into the turbo. The pump nipple kept popping off. But i did clean out the turbo inlet, intake and i changed my filter. Now from like 5.5 rpms til red like my air/fuel ratio jumps to around 12/1. I tired lowering the boost abit but it still around 12/1. I'm going to get a boost leak test and see if that helps at all. If not what do i need to do to fix the prob?

Do you think the flash has something to with your problem? I'm positive that Al knows what he's doing as far as the tuning goes, but one concern I had about getting his flash was this... Like your problem; When you are flashed for certain parts and one of those parts malfunction, will the flash itself have more negative effects than the stock ecu would if one of those parts do break?

I dont think his tune has anything to do with it. the main problem is that when he tuned my car it was running purfect even with the dirty air filter. once i saw how dirty my intake was i i cleaned it wery well, plus i also suspect that i have a boost leak and i think its these 2 things that scrambled my tune and causing me to run lean.

If AL tune your car and it was running fine with A/F in the mid to low 11's and now your seeing 12.1 A/F, I don't think your leaking anything. If anything, it could be your 02 sensor/sensor gauge going bad or weather related.

Also i did have a very nasty leak where the turbo connects to the lower intercooler pipe. When i looked under my car there was oil everywhere comming from that area and especially on the pipe. I did a soapy watter test and at idle it would bubble and with any type of acceleration it would bubble like crazy. I am pretty sure that i have solved that leak since i changed the gasket used gasket sealer and was able to reach and thighten the bolts better by dropping the down pipe. Any one with a greddy intercooler knows what i'm talking about.

hey al, i think its my o2 sensor that is bad. Like i said before at 20lbs of boost the car would hit around 12/1 air fuel ratio at around 5.5-6k all the way til redline. yesterday was the first time i was able to drive my car since sunday when i lowered the boost to 17lbs. Again around 5.5-6k rpm the car would read 12/1. I did run it at 17lbs several times with the same result. then i lowered the boost to 14lbs, and the same thing happened again, around 5.5-6k rpms the gauge would read around 12/1 air fuel ratio. I did this several times with the same result. I raised the boost again to aroud 17lbs with the same results.
