Alky & Spark Plugs??

I have been running one step colder plugs (BPR8ES) with higher boost for some time. Now I installed the Alky kit and I am thinking that there is no need for the cooler heat range because of the cooling and anti-detonation benifits of alcohol. Should I go back to the stock heat range while still running high boost 26psi?

If the 8 are not foulinmg and misfiring then you are fine with those = I run like 11 or 10 in my car

Although I'm not Al, I think its a good idea to take any precaution you can with your ignition.. It may not be a necessary expense, but it will help if you find you get misifiring at higher boost levels, additionally it will allow you to run a larger gap, and the car will also idle better with colder plugs. The one main advantage with an improved ignition system is stability, you won't have slight variations in timing which can lead to detonation when timing is just on the edge...

I've been running the BPR7ES's for awhile, also ran IW24s Denso's.. the Coppers definitely ran better and didn't misfire as much at higher boost when gapped at .024 or .025, if you gap them at the recommended setting .028-.032 they misfire like mad as boost comes on.

Thanks for the info MalibuJack. Is there any adverse effects using this ignition such as frying the stock coils??
