BTW - when it gets ultra hot out the collant temps can rise significantly

The stock ecu's collant temp enrichment kicks in and richens the car up significantly - in some cases over a full point richer

Alcohol injected cars already run on the rich side

When this extra collant temp enrichment kicks in the car can easily mis-fire - especially on high boost

You did not answer my question from before - how does the car run on lower boost - say 23 psi ?
You still did not answer my question

I agree that is was hotter than a mother that day, as I was spectating from the stands. When we went to the track and you were running 12.5's it was nearly 40-50 degrees. outside. I say that your times will be much better if we go on a cool night

True - but the sputering is prob ignition related - most likely a fresh set of plugs would help that.

If the retuning doesn't happen, you think you can still reflash the car with the first custom tune? I like to run with the first tune for a bit. Please let me know.

Thanks.

Re-gap a fresh set of iridium plugs to .024 to prevent the hesitation/stuttering/sputtering and misfire issues.

I had all those 0300 issues when I was running anything larger than .024 on my plug gaps on my 2005 MR.

My problems were really bad when the weather got really MUGGY/HOT in Minnesota like right now it's about 100 with the humidity/heat index.

I have NOT had any problems after gapping them to .024 like the factory manual states.

Sorry Al, the car has always run fine except for the two 3rd gear runs at the track (25psi). I have never had problems below 23psi (except for the time you were tuning my car going on the on-ramp which was an up hill, it was missing you thought because the alky was swishing around.

Sounds like you just have a spark issue - very common when pushing a stock ignition system on high boost with alcohol. Try a fresh set of plugs and turn up the boost to test.

So do you think I'll have to change plugs every month or two? Are you still reccomending the NGK BCR7ES's gapped at 24?

Would you also reccomened a set of plug wires? Or anything else to help promote greater spark?

I went to the track again last night Al. I am still misfiring in 3rd gear and it was not hot like last time (about 60-70 degrees). I don't understand how I would be misfiring in only one gear? It would make more sense if it would happen in more gears. What do you think?
