Was it boost cut?

A couple weeks ago I accidently hit 25-26 psi after swapping the plastic DV for the JDM MR (the mbc wasn't even touched). The boost quickly dropped back to 20psi and I could hear the venting noise from the BOV. Was it a boost cut or the ecu pulled timing? I was running on full tank of 101 octane. There was no CEL afterward.

The dyno flashed cars do not have boost cut.

I do not know what happend but next time I am out in cali I can test it for you.
It could be a miss fire - take a look at your spark plugs.

When you hit boost cut, does the blow-off valve open or can you feel the timing retard? I always thought it felt like a large jolt, sort of like when you would hit fuel cut in the 1 and 2G DSM's. Maybe I thought I was hitting boost cut and it's just been my spark plugs?

Boost cut feels just like fuel cut.
