"V4" Boost Controlling Flash option on IX Evos
Guys - tuning here in sunny FL - spent two days finalizing the details of the new "V4" boost controlling flash - here in a bone stock 2006 Evo IX
This new product includes a reflash (custom or through the mail) and a propietary Boost Hose which has a revsed boost pill configuration
I spent a lot of time with David Buschur perfecting this arrangement on the BR350 car and now I have it working OEM quality on the 2006 IX
The boost peaks at just over 20 psi and tapers to 18.5 or so
The boost holds the same in all gears
As you can see from the attached log the quality and results are near OEM quality - in fact it works much better and smoother than the OEM controls
It took a lot of work - but the results are superior to a MBC or EBC at this point as the oem ecu continues to have the ability to lower the boost level while you are warming up and when and if you may pick up a bad tank of gas to protect your motor.
For the time being this is offered ONLY to STOCK EVO IX's only - I will have it woking on modified cars in a short period of time

The previous pull was in 4th gear
Here is same car witha 3rd gear pull - the boost hits same point - falls down a slight bit more
Main thrust is that its smooth - linear and works amazing in all gears

The G meter was not flat to the floor qwhen I was taking out the equiopment adn thus the number was prob a bit high - none the less it was a very fast car
The Evo IX stock with this flash and boost hose is almost as fast and many 2003 Stage 3 cars - the IX's really are amazing cars

At this point - as a promotional marketing program - I will include the verised boost hoses and "V4" boost controlling settings for FREE with all Evo IX flashes - mail in and custom - through Feb 1 (Mail in is $299 for IX which includes refturn fed ex and the boost hose through Feb 1)
After Feb 1 there will be an additional charge for this feature
(Installation of boost hose is $50.00 extra charge)

Al - thanks for taking the time to post ... since I know you have been busy.
I guess bring an extra one of these to D.C. with you please
Question though ... do you think it would be safe with a stock IX to hit a slightly higher boost peak, like around 22psi ... and then let the natural taper happen from there? Or would that be pushing it too much on 93 octane?

I would say that on a street car 21 is the limit on what I would suggest - I am perhapse overly prudent ?
This level is a good one for a stock car and the car was fast as all heck for a 100% stock car

Very nice work Al. Glad after all the work you have it working so well. That's about as flat a boost line as it can get.

Looks great, and not having the MBC is obviously more warranty friendly ... for whatever that is worth ...
You just lose the adjustability of the MBC ... I wonder if there's any way to supply the end user with different hoses with different restrictions that could be swapped out to achieve different boost levels as desired? Might not be doable, but just a thought for fun
Also, how much headroom has this bought you in terms of the wastegate duty cycle? How high can you run the boost and still control it through the factory ECU + your boost tubes? For example if one were to run a bigger turbo or alky/race gas. Just thinking out loud

This is great news Al. As much as I love my dynoflash tune, I was considering switching to the AEM after reading David's results using to standalone to control boost. However, would your V4 flash be able to maintain 27psi or so to redline given a high boost acuator. I'm interested in this by april or so when you come back to the northwest. Thanks.
