Case Study # 140 - Evo IX - Buschur T/B Exhaust

Here is member S42evo

2006 IX

Buschur 3" T/B Exhaust

Forge UNOS MBC

20 Psi peak - 93 octane

Custom Dyno Flash Evo IX reflash

I am amazed - near Stage III results of an Evo 8 with minimal mods

The Evo IX's are kicking ***

That's funny, those are the same numbers I put down in my 2001 Z06, these cars are sick...

What would you estimate the crank hp tp be?

Al, that's just not fair. I can't get within 30whp of that at 22psi. Just curious, why is the boost being held at only 20psi. Are we not yet confident in running 21-22psi on 93oct for safety concerns?

Btw, get on AIM, bastard!

Hey, Al, what's the little spike at the end right before letting off the gas (preceded by a small decline/dip)?

People don't always want to pay double for the extra dyno time. Remember, these are customers who are paying for the dyno time and the tune. It's not just Al testing cars on the dyno for himself. I'd love to get before-and-after dynos every time I add a mod or get tuned, but it's simply not feasible.

This guy did not have a boost gauge and we were using the shop boost gauge which is deadly accurate

Since he would be waiting a few days to get his boost gauge in I wanted to keep the boost on the low side

Actually in this case the guy showed up at 3:15 pm and by the time his exhuast and mbc was installed it was after 6 which is closing time so we just started tuning

In most cases we try to take a base run but sometimes we just get to work

Clearly it was making good power post tune

Frankly, I was quite suprized that the IX would put down so much power with just and exhaust and mbc

I think its good for the IX owners but bad for the aftermarket as with just a few parts and a flash the IX owner is going to be in the 350 whp on pump gas range

Are these numbers with the stock cat, buschur's high flow cat, or a test pipe?
