Al, Mail in for Road Course Evo9?

Hey Al, I've been keeping up with the advancements on the tuning of the Evo9. The near 30hp gain is what I would be looking for, but the sustained wide open throttle at huge tracks like Road America has me concerned. The only engine mods I have are an oversize aluminum radiator, oversized oil cooler and an AMS intercooler, all of course to keep temps down. My question to you is do you think that your mail-in option for the Evo9 has the margin of safety needed for my purpose? And is it possible to get the mail-in option with the stock rev limiters retained? Thanks.

You can definitely retain the stock rev limiter - his BR350 flash has the stock rev limiter for warranty purpose on the BR330/350 cars. Also, his mail-ins are designed to be conservative so as to be reliable in all conditions. Plus, Al already leaves plenty of tuning room on the rich side so as to ensure safety and reliability. Now, that leaves us with the IX base flash and whether it's what you want for a road racing car with FMIC. On an VIII, it would be a no-brainer, but the IX may still need more R&D for that...let's see what he says.

Warrtalon,
Yah, the only reason I'm going with the bigger intercooler is to prolong the hot soaking but it may have an effect on the tune. I kind of doubt it though, after all it's not like it's going to cool it off much more but it might flow a little better.

On the phone with him now - he's en route to Norwalk to do some tuning at Buschur. I will notify him to check this later when he gets online.

the mail in is a option for you. Of course it is prudent in such extreme track conditions to use high octane (at least 100) racing fuel for the saftey of the engine.

I can maintain the stock rev limiter if you wish.
