Case Stuidy # 151 - Member Fire-balz - Evo IX with Drop in and 3" TB - Rocks !

Here is a car which puts me in a really happy mood. What a machine.

Here is a IX with just a TB 3" exhuast - test pipe and a drop in filter

I have been working long and hard these past few weeks on MIVEC tuning and This IX was about as close to automotive nirvana as I have felt. The tune was dead on. Pull after pull it held 100% not a touch of knock - smooth as a turbine.

This G force delivered is shocking when you compare to a Evo 8 result.

It was a real blast to drive and after 15 hours stright tuning it re-energized me!

I am loving these IX's

Al, do you have that info from my car, or is that only on a road tune?

It just keeps getting better on these IX's

The HKS RS equipped IX's will all need a Walbro fuel pump for sure

Here is one I just finished - already too lean in the mid range and needeing the pump upgrade

3 " exhuast with test pipe
RS Intake
Forge MBC
93 Pump gas

This car is pulling HARD !

These IX's are just not fair

Al,

Thank you for tuning my car. My car is quick and the power delivery is very smooth. Even my wife noticed how smooth the power came after 3k rpm and she doesnt even know anything about cars except how to drive one.

Two for a good job on my tune.

I will be installing my MBC tomorrow at my shop and I'll let you know how much more power is noticed at the top end.

Nick

Al, do you have any dyno numbers comparing the stock IX versus the IX with a Drop-in and TBE and your flash?

This makes me want a TBE bad...

Nice, Al in your first graph, boost was controlled by the ECU? And what gear was that in?

Good stuff, so for the time being, your boost is controlled by the ECU? I would like to know if you can feel a difference when you get a MBC.

The ecu is controlling the boost in the 1st chart and a MBC in the 2nd

i have the ecu controls very well dialed in now on the ecu so you dont even need a b oost pill mod - however due to the mivec it does not hnold that great a boost up top but still is making mad power to red line

IX's continue to amaze me every day
