Tuned any IX RS's yet Al?

Hey Al...Im very interested in purchasing a IX RS and modding it. I would choose you to do its tuning. I noticed the numbers are exceptional. IX "GSR's" and MR's are running about 340-345 whp with a TBE (catless) and intake it seems (on 93 oct). Those are along the beginning mods I would be purchasing. Have you tuned any IX RS's along these lines? Im trying to see if there would be an addition whp gain because of the weight...Thank you!!!

Gains should be similiar, the engines are all the same. The only differences a person would see because of weight would be on a track.

Can you throw a number at me please? If the IX GSR's are doing 340-345 whp on 93 oct, catless TBE and intake, what will the RS do with the same mods? Thanks!!

It will do the same ****ing amount, the rs is jsut the lighter version.

Its going to make the same power, but it will feel a little bit faster because its lighter.

Probably the same thing. Power will be the same between those two cars, RS will be faster in racing due to less weight.

Im not sure though because I was reading a comparision in one of the big car magazines, and they dynoed all 3 05 evos. The RS had almost 10 more whp thasn the other 2...

I can see why people get upset and flame away. Motor is the EXACT same. Small differences will be found from car to car. The last article I read that compared the rs,gsr, and mr together showed the mr went around a race track about .5 faster then a gsr and about .7 faster then an rs. Sometimes the heavier car is not the slowest as in this article it was the fastest. Unless your going to drive the car 80-90% on a race track why get the rs.

I realize this. I just want to know because of the weight. Im not saying in general too. I want to know AL'S experience with his own tunes. Thats why I listed it in the Dynoflash section and not the EVO General. I know about all the similarities in mechanical aspects... I want to know Al's person experiences...

You obviously dont know anything! its the same car mechanically! the difference is no radio, nothing power, no abs, no wing, no trunk carpet etc... if u were smart u would know that this has nothing to do with different motors or anything mechanically, so it means same power!!! now every car makes different power but the RS is going be making around the same numbers as other GSR evo's!!

The only way I can think that an RS may make more power on the dyno is if dynoed on a Mustang and the weight difference of the actual car and entered weight are different. This may "manipulate" the numbers some. Probably 10whp or less. At any rate, your are not making more or less power, it just looks that way due to an inconsistency with the data entered.

Then none of us understand what you're saying. Why are you asking for numbers specific to an RS when they all make the same power? There's nothing different...
