You might want to post this is EVO General, since this is a general question about EVO performance and not a dynoflash spcific question.

Just a little personal experience. I got tuned by Tom Payne after hearing some great things from some Honda guys. He is a really nice guy and has an awesome dyno, it is the large roller mustang dyno. I had him tune me for pump gas with the EMS and 280 cams. Made 266WHP 255WTQ on his dyno at ~21psi. I bought 5 gallons of race gas with me to tune a 2nd map. Tom said that he thought the turbo was maxed out and that we wouldn't get any more power by turning up the boost, and that I should be happy because that was the 2nd highest hp evo he had tuned on his dyno.

As I drove home the car seemed stronger than before. But then I started doing more research and reading on the forums and I knew I wasn't making the kind of power I should. So emailed my EMS map to Tym Switzer. He told me that the map was no where near where it should be. He said it looked like a base map with a couple tweeks made to get the car running. I took the car down to Tym to re-tune. We did a baseline run on the Payne map to see what it made on the Dynojet. (tym shut it down before 7000 because he felt it was unsafe) Here are the results:

Payne - 300WHP - 93oct (blue)
Switzer - 335WHP - 93oct (lt. red)
Switzer - 381WHP - C16 (dk. red)

So by increasing boost and retuning I picked up 80 whp and 80 wtq from where I was told the turbo was maxxed out. And I picked up between 30-45 whp all through the curve on the same boost as before. The biggest difference is in the area under the curve. There was a lot of power left on the table between 4000-6000 rpms with the first tune.

Payne is a great guy with a great facility, but I think you are better off going with someone who has been tweeking the 4G63 for years, whether that is Switzer, Buschur or AMS.
