rev limit 8500

I was just wondering if anyone else with a dyno flash now has an 8500 rpm limit? I'm not sure why Al set my limitor so high.

yeah, it's set that high for drag racing. it keeps you from having to shift into 5th.
Al said not to use it for all the gears, just 4th.

I think you need to have a fully built engine plus supporting mod to rev that high safely. especially rod bolts become loose at that high rev. Also, it will be so easy to detonate at that high rev. I think Al likes to set at 7800 rpm to be safe.

He had mine set to 7800rpm on my first tune. I am now retuned w/ the new 2-step, so does this mean I now have an 8500rpm rev limit(not like it really matters)?

If the posters rev limit is that high - he should send the ecu back in with his list of mods so i can install a different reflash

7800 is about the most revs you want - unless you have a specific reason to rev higher
