Questions about upcoming road tune

Al,
I can't seem to reach you by phone, so hopefully you can answer my questions here:

My car is getting road tuned by you on April 8 @ TSF (I unfortunately won't be there).

(1) Since you'll be road tuning, where are you going to plug the wideband into? The rear 02? or do i have to drill another spot in the down pipe for the WB 02?
Sorry for the ignorance, only been tuned on the dyno with 02 sensor in the tailpipe.

(2) What the heck is your dual stage flash people are talking about (racegas/pumpgas)? Does the ecu look at knock events and switch to a more aggresive map if it senses no knock? Please explain, as many of us would like to know.

(3) What gear do you think you'll be gathering data from? at least 3rd gear?

(4) Do you tune for WOT only?

Thanks,
Aziz

Al is only able to return PMs. Also, you can just PM me with these basic questions (that goes for anyone), since Al is constantly traveling around the country tuning people.

1) He road tunes 6 cars a day - they don't all have new bungs welded just for the tune. He attaches his gear to the tailpipe.

2) Dual-stage flash means you get custom tuned for pump gas, but then there is a switchover base flash for race gas that is triggered when you increase the boost. So, if you're at 21psi or so on pump gas, it uses your custom tune, but if you toss in race gas and run 24+ psi, it will switch maps and run more aggressively. The race map is not custom tuned, though, so it's not optimal - just better than no change.

3) Always 3rd gear.

4) Yes.
