Question-

I’m planning on getting a mail in for my otherwise stock 03 as soon as I can work out the logistics. My 03 is a daily driver that gets at least 60 miles a day highway, and is over 45k right now. I just want to make sure that such a thing is ok for a higher mileage Evo. I’d rather keep things as they are rather than significantly shorten the life of the motor. My next mod is probably going to be a Hallman MBC, set to 22 psi. For the flash would the MBC have to come first?

Sorry for the nuB question.

Properly tuned a reflash has zero effect on your motor's lifespan. Flash without fear

While this is true, in our experience here at Pruven Al has been flashing hundreds and hundreds of these Evos here over the pat two years and we have yet to see any tuning related failures what do ever.

In fact more stock evos have failed than tuned ones.

From what I have seen the most dangerous combination is when customers throw on parts WITHOUT professional tuning to compensate. This often has bad results.

From my perspective and experience reflash tuning is very safe when done properly.

The flash will do you well, but I don't recommend adding an MBC and setting it to 22psi without a fuel pump and exhaust. Trying to push that much boost through the stock, restrictive exhaust will cause extra backpressure and knock that you don't want. Likewise, you don't want to mess with aggressive boost without having a good fuel pump. If I were you, I'd just get the base flash and enjoy the car daily. If you want to mod, then do the Warrtalon/Buschur VIII package (check sig), since it includes everything you'd want/need while still remaining reliable. You don't really want to do some of those mods without the others, since they are mostly inter-dependent.

Thanks for the input & info.
