Pre Dyno Flash Questions???
I’m getting my flash done in about 2 weeks here are some questions I have:
1. When it says “RAISE REV LIMIT OVER STOCK” (stock is 7500rpms, I believe):
What RPM is it raised to? Is it safe to shift at this higher RPM?
2. “ELIMINATE TOP SPEED LIMITER” (stock is 145-150-ish, not that I’ll be going that fast):
What is the max top speed after limiter is eliminated? (Has anyone tried this safely on a track, after a flash?)
3. Is the stock 5000rpm REV LIMITER removed after the flash? Or is it just raised to 5900rpm?
What exactly is the 2-step launch control and is it offered for a “through the mail tune”?
4. Lastly, when you have a boost controller to control the boost after the flash:
What does this exactly mean? So if the boost controller is in and turned all the way down…what boost will the Ecu run?
Example: Let’s say I have a Buschur stage 1 at 91 octane, and I say, Al flash my ECU for these parts…will he tell me what is a safe boost to run? Or do I decide? So if we decide on 23psi, tapering off, is that already set w/ the Ecu? Or do I control that w/ my MBC. Or is the MBC only to raise it above 23psi? BUT if I raise it, is this safe because the FLASH is set to 23psi?
What max boost should I run w/ a Buschur stage 1 and 91 octane?
Thanks,
Justin

Man, you are crazy, haha, but here's the answers:
1) 7600 is stock, and the default raise is to 7800. If it wasn't safe, he wouldn't do it. Think about it. If Mitsu sets the rev limit at 7600, do you think that's at the very edge of danger? No, they provide a buffer, plus there's no reason to rev higher than that for most people, since we hit peak WHP in the 6500rpm range. It does help stay in 4th at the drag strip, though. You can also request to have the rev limit set wherever you want it.
2) Depends on the car, air density, exterior mods, power, gearing, etc. Maybe 165-170 max.
3) It's raised to 6050rpm, or to the rpm of your choice, or not at all. It's included on every flash like all the features you see listed.
4) The MBC removes the boost control solenoid from the equation, which is what the ECU uses to control boost, so the ECU no longer has any affect on your boost. You set your MBC wherever you want it based on your mods and octane. You tell Al the boost you're running, the octane you use, and the mods you have.
5) I'd run 20-21psi peak boost on 91oct with Warrtalon/Buschur Stage 1. If you are at high altitude, remember that your boost gauge doesn't read actual boost due to the lower atmospheric pressure. When I say 20-21psi, I'm referring to Manifold Absolute Pressure, so you might have to set your MBC at 23psi if you're as high as I am in CO (6000').

Thanks Warr and yes I am crazy
lol j/k!
Okay I have "closure" hahaha!
BUT last question. So I install the exhaust, intake, and mbc, then re-install the "reflashed" Ecu.
If I don't turn up the MBC, I won't be hitting my desired psi (lets say I tell Al, 21psi), right?
Therefore, I have to keep turning up the MBC till my boost gauge reads 21psi (or 23psi, I live an Anchorage, AK). Is this right...
And If I don't turn up the mbc, I'll just be hitting whatever minimal psi, right?
Crazy Justin!

Make sure the MBC is set to 0. When you start the car up and go test it, it will show ~11psi. You then turn it up gradually until you get to your desired boost, and then you're done.
I process 99% of all orders the same day and fed ed return shipping is included in the $199 fee. You are without your car for one full day.
Another option is a E FLASH! in which you down load and email me your rom and list of mods and I email you back the tuned ROM for self installation - that option is $75. Pm call or email for details.
It all boils down to how computer literate you are and if you want to invest $90 in a flashing cable which you need to do the email flash version.
Either way, I have traveled all over the USA and tuned hundreds and hundreds of Evos as I can set you up with a map to match your car and fuel.

hey Al, can you do the equivalent of a mail-in-flash at the shop? Lets say i stop by one day leave the car in the parking lot and bring my ecu in person? If so how much would this be?
Thanks!
Thanks!
That is one option
