MBC Boost Question

Folks I am hitting ~22 PSI in third and fourth gear and more like 23 - 24 in fifth and sixth gear. (I am currently testing a Hallman Pro to see if I could avoid the double spike I was seeing with my Forge unit. Although I no longer seem to have the double spike, I have this issue now...)

Advice / recommendations greatly appreciated....Thanks

chris

BTW -- The car feels crazy fast and there are no audible signs of knocking...Obviously data logging is needed....

usually you will hit higher boost levels with a MBC in higher gears due to the increased load on the engine. usually i set the boost with at least 3rd gear pulls if 4th aren't possible to help avoid this. however, your boost will most likely be lower in lower gears and as far as i know this is unavoidable. if anyone else has a trick to fix this i'd like to know as well.

if you were asking me, the wastegate line runs directly from the MBC to the wastegate nipple and the boost source ran directly from the MBC to the turbo compressor nipple. as far as i know from research, 1-2 psi increase in higher gears(5th/6th) as op[posed to lower gears(1st/2nd) isn't abnormal due to the increased engine load.

Thgis is normal - you muts lower the boost setting that gives you a max in top gear of 21 psi

Thanks Al

Al Thanks for the advice....Do you feel we could run 22 - 23 with a custom tune? (Meaning do you think the engine can withstand the psi?) Thanks again...

PS -- I am reading other posts with guys running 24 psi....

lol backwards would make it freeboost or do weird things... and if it was hooked up wrong it wouldnt control the boost =)

also looks like your on 93 octane, ive seen people running spike of 24 psi that tapers to 19 by redline on 91 octane with vishnu flash.

im sure with the 93 octane you could get away with 22-23psi that being in top gear, and it would be nice if it tapered off towards redline. but most maps get really rich towards redline so it would seem not to be a problem.

thats my 2c

I came back from Hallman MBC to Unos MBC. It seems like Unos have this double spike issue and Hallman is a bit more stable at the top gears. But I decided to keep Unos because of "click" The best feature I've seen from any MBC!
