ECU interchangable?

Are ecu's from evo 8's interchangeable.
Say I have an 05 MR and I get an ecu from an 03 or 04.
Can that be reflashed to give my 05 more power?

You would have to have the ecu re-synched at a delaer to match your key and imobilizer

A 05 is a better ecu than a 03 so I would not retro swap back to a 03 / 04

If you want to avoid 0300 code issues it is superior

Power wise its the same

Only a few people have the P0300. I've never had it on my 03.
