I don't want to offend anyone but I had a run in with about the largest grass hopper I had ever seen - it was eating the head off another one - it had to be nearly 7 inches long

I decdied to attack it and see what kind of battle it could put up -= simply becuase it looks so menacing

They are some tough suckers those giant grass hoppers, I acutally smashed a empty beer bottle which was lying on the road side over its head and it just laughed it off and jumped about 3 feet into the grass to escape

5 minutes later it was back eating the head off another fellow grasshopper

I dont understand why they like to crawl over the hot road in the middle of the high noon sun - its a strange sight, particularly when you see them starting to eat each other

It was like being in a horor movie - invasion of the giant bugs

One creature I did not feel compelled to battle was the numerous crocks sitting all over the swamp - they looked hugry and fear less - I dont think the hurricane effected them at all
