track last night

took my evo out to the track last night. guy blew up a camaro, took 45 min. to clean, so only got 3 runs. I am happy with the improvement over my evo8, but not happy with the end results. think that they could/should be better. night runs at around 70 deg, 2500ft elevation(give or take)
best run
r/t .416
60 1.734
330 5.193
1/8 8.104
mph 82.91
1000 10.596
1/4 12.693
mph 108.21

I know that r/t sucks, and working on that, but the car felt like it was bogging with the 5900 2-step. couple of evo racers, one has his 05 stock turbo'ed going 12.0 with no cams suggested getting reflashed to 6500. said that would help the bogging off the line.
also added 112racegas and turned up the boost(at warr's advice) and it took like 25 clicks of the forge to get from 19 to 24psi. sound right, or should I have the other spring in it that came with the kit? I installed it just as it came.

my car has tbe/intake/walbro/lower i/c pipe/front mount/dynoflash/forgembc.

overall, I am happy with the times for my first run out in the car, and it bested my evo8 that ran a 13.4@106 as a best time

any advice from warr or al on the 2-step?

edit: oh yea... it's a 9

In some cases a higher two step is required - the guy down in floida is slightly over 7,000 who went 11.56

However, please realize that raising the two step over 6,000 places tremendous stress upon the driveline and clutch - if you want a agressive drag set up you must be willing to pay for broken parts

One option you can try is to remove the clutch pedal switch clip so that you can by-pass the two step at the track and try free reving it - that may work better for you

Finally - the Heavy spring that was in the bos is the one you should be using

with more practice you will get down to about 12.2 with that set up and elevation with 27 psi peak boost on race gas

Sand, if you hit a 1.73 60', then you weren't bogging. The best 2 60's that I've hit up here at 6000' are a 1.71 and 1.72. The 1.72 led to a 12.30@107.99. Notice that you have less mods than I and are trapping higher. Yes, your altitude isn't as extreme, but since our 60's are close, and your MPH is higher, you can see that you have about .3s.-4s to gain from faster shifting.

I still think it should be faster with the race gas and boost cranked, but it just doesn't always work that way. Have you done a pressure test after all those mods (especially the FMIC) to ensure 0 leaks? The first time I did a pressure test, I found 4 leaks before I hit 19psi. After fixing them is when I went 12.26@110 (sea level) on Al's base flash.

What does that guy who runs 12.0 have if not cams? It's hard to go 12.0 without cams. I did 12.000 without cams on race gas and my own SAFC tuning, but that's pretty rare.

I will pressure test. If I am correct, remove the intake tube to the turbo and test there..

any advice on faster shifting? leaving the gas to the floor?

congrats scott, i'm surprised you didnt hit over 110mph, as the other guy w/ just exhaust, and mbc is running the exact same times as you w/out a fmic and a flash, but hopefully you get this handled

Well, no lifting will be faster if done properly, but it's not required in order to go fast. I got down to 12.000 before I was ever able to NLTS every shift, because my clutch (ACT) wouldn't allow it.
