Proof that Al ROCKS as a tuner!

I don't have huge plans for my car and want to keep it relatively stock but still have a fun street car.
With that in mind, I pieced myself together a "stage1" kit that consists of a 3" TBE, k&n drop-in and a MBC (although I STILL don't have the MBC on the car)
Now, I knew I'd need a tune and was planning on a DynoFlash mail in. However, the Evo is my DD. I then started doing a little research on EFLASH's and decided for the money, what the hell!
Well, I installed the TBE and the drop in and hardly noticed a difference other than sound.
I mailed my .hex file to Al and exactly 24 hrs later I recieved an email with the updated file.
The next day, I went down to my car before I left for work and flashed my ECU with the new info. I walked back upstairs letting the car warm up and grabbed my stuff for work. Came back down, got in the car and pulled out of the driveway. Doing about 5mph down my street in 1st gear, I romp on it and am instantly plastered to the seat. I grab 2nd, floor it and the same thing happens just as fast. I can't believe how much of a difference the flash made.
I got on Buschur's rollers at the shootout just to see how much of a difference I got with just these MINIMAL mods and was pleasantly surprised to see that I'm roughly 65 awhp higher than a bone stock Evo IX on his dyno.
I ran into Al later on in the day and just HAD to shake his hand and thank him. We talked for a bit and he asked to see the graph from my pull. He was happy to see how smooth the curve was with just the BASE tune he gave me. I'm going to post it up just so everyone else can see too.
Thanks again Al!

sorry. I need to host it somewhere where I don't have to shrink it so much to meet the size requirements.
I'll fix it now and edit my post with a new link.

First let me just mention that I am NOT trying to dis Al's tuning whatsoever, but I'm just curious which intake / exhaust you used. On my bone stock '04 Evo RS, we dynoed 225 AWHP on a dynapack. From there, I put the APS 3.5" on and an APS intake, and on that exact same dyno I made 265 AWHP with the tip in, and 275 AWHP with the tip removed - So a 40 WHP or a 50 WHP gain depending on how you look at it, with absolutely no other mods and/or ECU changes.

From your impressions of driving the car, it sounds like the majority of your gains were from his tune, as the car was rather unimpressive until you got it flashed, but that just seems kinda strange because I know simply putting intake & TBE on my car made a BIG change right off the bat.

+1 on wanting to see your dyno slip in a legible format.

My IX was much the same. I'm hauling *** now. Thanks Al!!

My buddy Carlos here in Tucson just ran Socorro's IX with the same mods as mine and Al's tune in Phoenix. It was hot and humid as hell, but he still managed a 1.7 60' 12.2 @110mph.

Ok, for mods I have a Blitz 3" catback, Espelier 3" DP and TP and a K&N drop-in. The exaust isn't a full 3" as it necks down in places. That's it besides the flash.
I dynoed at Buschurs shop on Saturday. He has a Mustang Dyno. From what I've heard, on a dynojet or land and sea, I'd put down right around or slightly above 300 awhp.
Here's a better scan of the graph:

Looks good, you still need a MBC to help your taper.. I need to find out why thats so common with our cars. I had an STi tuned and it never tapered like that.

Torque looks great... You should go with some headers to spike some torque #'s up...

It is known that IX's don't respond to great with a TBE unless they also have an MBC or a flash.

Those numbers on the Buschur dyno is extremely impressive though. Thats roughly 330awhp or so on a Dynojet which is typical with those mods like in Warrtalons Stage 1 package. Very nice.

Thanks. I still need to get the MBC on too. I'm also thinking about selling this TBE and going full Buschur or AMS so it's 3" with no tapering. I also want to get a LICP. It'll be a few more weeks though. I need to save some money back up after making the trek to Ohio.

280 on the Buschur dyno is a decent number for these mods

More imporant the shape of the curve shows its tuned perfect

I am very pleased
