how to tell if car ever had flashed?

i bought an used evo and im so sure it was modded b4 and returned back to almost stock. when i bought it i can tell it use to have an intake but it now has the stock airbox. it also has a exhaust and bov on it. the car runs smooth and idles smooth so i was thinkin maybe the car has been flashed before. is there anyway i can tell if the car ever had a flash or tuned? thanks

Dude please do a compression check. I bought a used evo and found out a week later the # 3 piston rings were shot and had 110 compression. Umm concerning the flash.....maybe you could hit 3rd and see if the boost carries all the way to the redline. My car had a prior worksp2 flash and the boost carried at 20psi in each gear until redline.

Hopefully you got a decent car that wasn't beaten on as majority of used evos have been.

I bought a used 03 same as my friend did. I knew the prior history of mine. He did intake/hardpipes/exhaust/mbc and tune. I still pulled him by half a car. somethings wrong with his car

Really looks like you need to watch the used car market these days.. But then again i think my car might be a freak. I went 13.2 on 18's and its stock

yeah, some cars react differently to mods than others. i have kept up with, and even pulled a little through 3rd, many evos that had flashes and MBC set to 21. my car has a TBE w/ tp, and an AEM intake. thats it. well my suspension is done up pretty good though.

cant wait picking up my cams tomorrow. just bought a new fuel pump and flash is soon to follow.

Any update of what may have been causing your power loss?
