You don't need a flash for either. There are several that fit w/stock battery (can't think of one off hand other than injen). Stock battery UICP's generally have way more bends in them tho.

get the Buschur small battery kit with there uicp and licp. whatever your choice is you wont need a re-tune for it.

back in the early days of my Evo, I was running only a SAFC, 3" exhuast and MBC with a BR Intake and a 75 shot of NOS

I added a RMR fmic pipe "kit" which had a upper and lower fmic with the stock battery location and it did NOTHING for my power on the dyno or the track

IMHO - the main advantage of a solid or hard pipe kit is the durability and look

It is something like the Buschur kit that shortens the route of the pipe and reduces bends with the mini battery kit which really adds the power

Every bend raises air temps and increases pressure drop

IMHO a stock batter location upper fmic pipe is not a performance gain or anything you must retune for

Sorta on the subject, do aftermarket FMIC's like Buschur's deluxe intercooler need a retune or is that only needed to extract all the power out of it? Been debating on it, but if I really need a retune for it, I'll hold off on it.

I wouldnt spend the $$$ for a retune just for a FMIC.. but you could possibly gain a little something I'm sure.

Pipes are good for spoolup.. not so much for power.

so no re-tune would be required for BR's LICP either? I saw it only spoke about the UICP, wanted to make sure that applied for the LICP as well.

intriguing.....would you happen to have any thermocouple/pressure gauge readings to share?
