Does the addition of a TBE require a new tune?
Al custom-tuned my car back in September in LA. Other than that, I'm completely stock. I got the impression that custom tunes are fairly delicate, and are tailored to specific mods. So, if I had a TBE installed would I necessarily have to have my tune adjusted? What would happen if I added a TBE and left the tune the way it is? Thanks...
i disagree i had a tune with intake mbc. i just got a TBE and i can feel that i need a retune. boost jumped 3psi and i seem to not beable to fix it with a mbc and 4th gear has lost some noticable power.
You have to adjust your boost (in this case down) if it climbed 3psi. Not sure by what you mean you cant fix it with mbc. You should be able to turn the boost down to 20psi with an mbc. If you cannot, then there is something wrong.
Filter, that is very abnormal. When boost rises due to adding an exhaust, you just turn the boost down. The car should not have lost any power anywhere.
Mathgeek, it's not required, but it's worth the $100 to get a retune for optimization.
