DynoFlash... Simply Amazing...
Well as the topic states I am very happy indeed. I took my stock Evo 9 MR up to The Shop in CT and had the pleasure of getting to know Al and Jimmy. Al is one funny man and really knows the Evo inside out and Jimmy truly is a master mechanic, very thorough with the job and is a really genuine guy. Between Al and Jimmy they make the ultimate Evo Team and I can't recommend them highly enough.
I ended up getting an Exhaust, Filter, Fuel Pump, MBC and a Custom Tune and it really is a night and day difference. The power is awsome and delivery is super smooth, it was exactly as they described it would be and in my opinion is a must do upgrade to the car as now it's the Evo it was made to be.
All of this for around $1650 installed also makes it somewhat of a bargain so to all of you who have not already done it hurry up and make your way over to The Shop and see what the Evo is all about.
Once again a big thank you to Al and Jimmy, your both awsome and I really appreciate you guys taking the time to get everything just right.

By the time the install was finished it was 2.00 A.M. so it was not quite appropriate for us to get on the Dyno and wake up all the neighbors - lol - that being said Al did a Flash then took it out for a drive and fine tuned the map. When I get a chance I'll be going back up to get a custom tune on the Dyno just for the sake of seeing the real numbers but numbers aside, it's pretty damn fast considering we have not gone too crazy with mods and I am pretty sure we will be at around 300 to the wheels which is a pretty nice increase over stock for a minimal amount of cash. As soon as I get the tune done I'll post the graphs.

well his custom tune package includes dyno so u should go back for it
he didnt say tbe, he said exhaust so im assuming just catback.... if he had the full tbe, fuel pump, intake, mbc and custom tune on a 9MR, u should be hitting way more then 300.... more like 320-330

I opted for the Buschar Racing Exhaust (TBE) with HFC and the Magnaflow Muffler as per Al's recommendation and am very happy with the sound, quality, power gains and price. I think you are right and I am sure I will be well over the 300 but we'll see when we get it on the Dyno. I think my set up is effectivly the BR 330 package.

Everyone throws around numbers like all dynos are the same....A 9 with a tune and a TBE w/ cat. will likely be right around 300 whp on a calibrated Mustang Dyno with a baseline of ~255 whp...Sounds like you are happy with the setup -- congrats!
Are you logging your tune? I am curious what timing you hit in a 3rd gear pull (and at what RPM) and whether you are getting any knock???

Thanks man much appreciated
As noted your car was one of the weakest IX's on our dyno yet at 230 / 230 stock base line
It will be interesting to see how much power it is making now

I remember back in my WRX days there was a member who used to brag about how cheaply he could obtain "X" amount of whp
He used to quantify the power per $ spent
I think we can simplify the formula as follows - (whp per $)
Frankly, engaging in such a activity is not thing that ever interested me
BUT - I think we have you beat
We had a customer who used NO exhuast - pump gas and a removed wastagte line to run 30 psi on a E FLASH for pump gas and went 11.23 in the 1/4 mile !
In this customer's case - the OP with the IX - his parts installed were all high quality top of the line units - Walbro fuel pump (there is a cheap chinese copy you can buy for $5) - Forge Unos MBC (yes you can make your own from parts at the Home Depot for less than $6) - Buschur 3" exhuast (you can simpky cut some holes in your stock down pipe for free) etc
I think the point is that he achived a decent result at a reasonable price
We had a customer with a similar package - (same tune) who went 11.56 in the 1/4 with his IX last year on race gas
To me its a geat running Stage I set up that is a excelent foundation for future modifications - (exhuast and MBC intake and pump can all be used up to 550 - 600 whp) and which makes for a great running daily driver car
I think that was the point of the OP

If it works with you and Jimmy I would like to come to The Shop on Thursday this week to finish the work on the dyno and see the real numbers and to resolve a SES issue I seem to now be having. The code reads P2195 - Oxygen sensor or A/F sensor stuck lean-Bank 1 sensor 1 - Some people have suggested a few things such as running lean, faulty sensor, leak in hoses and running lean but I am guessing you will probably know. Let me know if this works for you guys and I'll hopefully be seeing you guys on Thursday.
