remote street tuning

I am relatively new to the evo scene, but I have had street/track tuning experience with my last car (a turbo miata).

I am interested in dynoflash's remote tuning service, but I would like to know if the o2 sensor in the car can be used or if an additional wide band is required. If additional wide band is required, are there any vendors that sell the exhaust pipe with an extra bung already added (is it in the end of the down pipe)? Is there a temporary wide band setup that people use for street tuning (so the exhaust can remain stock)?

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Best place to find your answer is in the newbie section, and the search function. All of that information is already on the site.

I am not trying to be a jerk, just a friendly nudge in the right direction.

I don't normally offer a remote tuning service - however I would be more than willing to work with any customers who would want to obatin a tune in that manner

A base flash either my email or mail in flash is one simple option

For any remote tuning you would need a wideband and logging data which I could help you with setting up

A 3rd option is if I visit your area for a tuning trip

I have done a search, and although it has some info on wide band manufacturers (and some install info) - everything I found notes welding the 02 bung yourself - is there someone who (a) sells a downpipe with the wideband 02 bung already welded in, or (b) a temp install that does not require changing the stock exhaust.

It seems to me that a traveling tuner might have a temporary device that you could just slap on for the few hours of street tuning, and then take off once you are done. Does anyone know if that is the case?

Thanks,

Dave

I'm pretty sure some vendors will weld a bung onto a newly purchased downpipe. I think I recall Buschur saying he would do that for a small fee. Just ask a vendor.

Also, if you have some tuning experience (or want some), it might be in your best interest to purchase a tactrix cable + ECUFlash and tune yourself. It's cheap and will save you a lot of money in the long run when you add additional parts. There is a lot of info available on this site and many people do it.

I guess It's possible to remove the WB once you are done with it and plug the hole. I have mine hooked up to a failsafe that cuts boost when it detects a condition that is too lean so I keep it in all the time.

Thanks for the info. I have read a bit about the ECU Flash self tuning, and that does interest me, although it might be nice to have a stock baseline and a tuner baseline (which I would obviously pay for).

Thanks for the info, I will try to talk to some vendors soon.

For an in-depth remote tune

Go with Mellon... I've had experience with 2 other major tuners
