Tuning the UTEC and available maps?

Hey Al...

I've pm'd you before but didn't get a response. I know your a VERY busy guy...but wanted to know something...

I know you say you can get the same power from your dynoflash as you can from a piggy, but as I said before in another thread...I change mods here and there and need the tuneability of a piggy. Plus I am wanting to use it for other things as well. My only problem is no GOOD tuner in the area other then AMS (a bit of a drive for me) that is experienced with UTEC.

So my question is this...

Do you have any plans to do maps for the UTEC based on mods of cars...much as you do with your dynoflash? I am HIGHLY interested in the UTEC and plan on using a dynoflash as my base if not just the U-flash. I think this would be a good option for those of us doing the UTEC

What do you think?

Ya know, good thing you brought this up, I'm looking to do the same (U-Flash) and then the full tune on the UTEC itself..

Al suggested to me to use a mail-in style flash for the base and tune for mods after as I put more on. Question is though when you drop a mod and don't replace it...what do you do! LOL

The short answer to your question is I have no intention to offer UTEC tuning maps.

THE ONLY service I offer is the Uflash which gets you the fuel cut taken out, a higher rev limit and top speed limit and a optimized base fuel curve. Becuase the UTEC does not YET (they are in the works) - offer those features - my Uflash is a nice add on for a cheap price to enhance the UTEC experience until TX's releases the new softwear in the future which will take care of those functions

I will also provide custom UTEC tuning for people who want that done.

A good set up I recomend for racers is my reflash as a daily operating and a custom UTEC map for race gas tuned by me for your track operations - that is really going to be a potent combo IF you can afford it. Just turn the switch under the dash and go between a safe, factory knock protected pump gas reflash - to a full out race tune.

Personally - I just like the way my base dyno Flash works. IMHO - the best thing about it is i can get all the power and performance while riding under the FACTORY knock protection set up, which IMHO is one of the best features on the evo.

Re - setting the knock parameteres is a good thing for adding power but it also can be a dangerous thing if you are not super careful.

The way I think the cool thing about the Dyno Flash is that its tuned and you use it as is. For $199.99 you get a total solution that will give you 90% of the available and safe power.

UTEC or any other tuning device is only a tool for tuning. Like buying a hammer or a wrenc- then you have to use the tool.
You end results are ONLY as good as the person using it.

If your trying to tune it yourself (that can be a great experience and a lot of fun for the first time tuner) you have to take your time, invest in thr right tools -- TXs tuner - - and be patient.

What we offer is a lot of experince tuning evos - fast easy results and a minimal cost.

IMHO the UTEC is the best piggy back device on the market and is superior to all other piggy back soultions curerntly available - BUT - its not a replcement for reflashes which really are geared towards a different market segment.
