Al, HKS cam and Dynoflash question

Hey Al,

I have HKS 272's and HKS cam gears coming in and I was originally going to go with AEM EMS for engine management but I thought I would try Dynoflash before I spend all the money for the EMS. When you tune the Dynoflash for cams do you add extra fuel at idle to smooth it out? I was going to run the cam gears at -4/-1 which I read will really smooth out idle along with adding more fuel. Also what A/F ratios do you shoot for with the mail-in Dynoflash running on 93 octane at WOT?

Thanks

We normally do not touch the idel - expect by special request

We have a target a/f of 11.0 - 11.1 - however in through the mail tuning we see an actual a/f from 10.8 to 11.4

You can try the dyno flash risk free and get a FULL refund if not happy !

Do you think that adding fuel at idle would help with 272's? Have you road tuned many Evo's with 272's and did you have to add any fuel to smooth out idle? I was going to get some kind of fuel management in the future (VAFC, Emanage) if I decide I like the flash over getting the EMS. I just want to make sure that my car will run ok at idle before Im able to get the fuel management.

Not sure about the Emange but Vafc and dynoflash will not help with the idle of 272/272. It didn't help me and I didn't expect it to although it would have been great.

Do you have cam gears? How is the idle with the 272's compared to stock? I forgot that the VAFC cant adjust at idle and Emanage also cant. I guess I will see how the Dynoflash works with the cams and see if the EMS would be worth the money over the Flash.

NO cam gears although I wish I had so I can adjust the idle. Idle is like how everyone describe, it's a loby scary sound . Dynoflash will definitely help. For the $$$ and gains dynoflash is

Yeah for the price why not try the Dynoflash before I spend $2,000 for the EMS. I will try overlapping the cams and see if that gets rid of the bad idle. Guess we'll see.
