387HP stock turbo

Just did a run on my Auterra Dynoscan, (which is very accurate as long as you input accurate data, (temp, humidity, road elevation, vehicle weight, drag coefficient, frontal area, and gear ratio)). I checked my previous runs against a Dyno Dynamics AWD dyno and found them to be +/- 5hp.
Anyways, It was 101F, 20% humidity, 110 VP race gas, stock turbo pushing 25psi, 11.7:1 AFR, 18deg timing advance at redline (7850);
387hp @7500 rpms, 338lb/ft @ 4600 rpms.
Power is "electric motor" smooth, no detonation or timing being pulled.
Thanks, Al

Nice numbers. Must pull like crazy. I can't imagine how it pulls in cooler weather. Are you still on the stock clutch?

What's up SinCity,
Yeah, I'm still on staock clutch, 10,000miles. I don't launch it much, maybe 10 times in the last year.
A clutch is my next purchase, I'm still deciding which one. I'm going for a twin plate, either ATS or Cusco, also waiting to see RPS when released.
I am on a mission to bust 400HP on stock turbo, no NO2.
Then I'll get the Burschur or AMS turbo kit and be at my ultimate goal of 500HP.
I'm also going to put an Aquamist 2d water injection system on.

How's your beautiful silver machine?

Way to go man - BTW - come see me for a free re-tune when I return to LA - I want to take a second look at it after that loose injector thing

Your car was without a doubt one of the fastest stock evos I have ever driven - right behind Robi's which was tuned to the last inch of its life - and I knew it was making some serious power when I drove it - mostly due to the very well designed fmic and well thought out mod installs

Bravo

Al, Your customer service is the best.
I will come out. Do you want me to make a appointment, or just fit in when I can?

Running great. A little over taxed with the 105 degree heat. Will be looking into a radiator and FMIC upgrade. Also when hot, I hear the Walbro. But when driving at night, it's silent again.

Very impressive numbers, just goes to show the potential of our extremely effective stock turbo.

I did do some light porting and cleaning up of the flash in the turbine housing, O2 housing and exhaust manifold. I'm sure it improved the flow a little.

Hmm.. Definitely encouraging numbers there.. I picked up a Titanium (9.8) turbo (not the TME or the JDM MR one) with the JIC Stainless header and DNP O2 housing.. Had both the header and housing laying around, and was originally going to do a turbo upgrade.. But I suspect there's alot more in that stock style turbo.. plus fairly low spool and the reliability of a factory piece and fit.. My overall induction/engine mods aren't all that different from what your running.. It'll be interesting to see if anyone gets that magic 400whp number with a stock turbo (Its probably already been done) but your numbers are certainly encouraging for me considering the direction I've chosen until I can afford a full turbo kit.

I've become way more interested in fund driving and immediate spool than big HP Numbers..

Very nice, now lets see you do that with real world gas......say, 91 or 93 octane gas?

The last run I did was prior to my custom tuned Dynoflash, just a mail-in, on 91octane. I got 303hp/287lb/ft, similar weather, boosting to 20psi.

Malibu: I'm thinking the next place to pickup some power is in the head, Springs.retainers, (up the redline), head studs, exhaust side porting and thiner headgasket. Along with the custom IC piping I'm have made and water injection (to make up for the 91oct **** we get here and the high temps), a blow-thru MAF also. I'm also looking into Extrude Hone on the stock intake manifold.
I think with the above mods, 425hp is possible, mid 350's on 91octane.
