Thanks for the support guys
I certainly hope that some of the readers following this drag racing stuff will be able to make the distinction between what I am doing with my car which is essentially a street driver / ROAD evo with full braking and coil over suspension system as any evo would have, a/c, power steering and stock radiator etc - - AND - - a "purpose build drag evo" which is seriously lightened, has no handling ability - small brakes - no a/c - no power steering and which runs on bias ply drag slicks
This weekend - after running the 11.17 time - I packed up all my gear, inflated the tires, re-set the tien flex coil overs and drove out onto the highways to enjoy a very pleasant and WELL BALANCED all around road car
Ironically - I run stock size road racing tires the Toyo RA 1's which are dot approved full radial tires. The car really handles very good with those tires.
By tuning my car to repeatedly run these decent times and make good power on the track (I picked up 34 mph in the back 1/8th - not bad eh) and also keeping the engine together for now 11,000 miles without incident, I am trying to make a demonstration regarding my skills as a evo tuner.
I want you guys to know that the performance level of my car can be duplicated by anyone on your regular evo. No need to add nos or destroy what makes your Evo one of the best road going cars in the world to get viper and porsche turbo killing power and performance on the track.
**PARAGRAPH REMOVED BY SC**
My goal with the car going forward is to upgrade the turbo one size to make a little more top end power and get the car into the 10 second range on stock size street radials with all the major equipment functional and with the full handling and stopping potential of a stock evo. Also - my goal MUST include the ability to drive 100 miles to the track - do the even and then drive it home under its own power.

The funny thing happned that I was at the track a day earlier before the event fro a magazine shoot and decided to enter the gambler's race against a bunch of old hard core mussel cars - I was the only import there
I drew a hemi cuda in the ast round and the excitement of blowing his doors off lead me to drop the clutch too fast - thus breaking off my half shaft end
It all ends good as I simply installed a spare overnight and made the event the next day
Sure - it would have been nice to beat the cuda!!!! I'll have to get those guy's next time
Right on. Out of curiosity, what would a 1.58 60' translate to 0-60? I'd think it's gotta be like 3 seconds or maybe quicker... I think I've read the Enzo's about the same 1/4 time (@ $600,000!) and it's around 3 or so. That's like the "Flight of Fear" at Kings Dominion!

It appears I have reached the point where - IF I laucnh it hard I bust off the rear wheel slines from the half shaft - So I have to take it a bit easy or get some custom half shafts made up
Basically - that car is very quick now. I am sure that a lighter driver who shifted better would be in the 10's with ease and that is not bad on sport radial tires 235 width and no nos
I never would have imagined that these kind of numbers would be possible with my evo back in the days I had a WRX
My quest for a conistant 10 second daily driver without nos on street tires is nearing its end
