Hi, thinking about stage rev and wondering about boost.
Hi, currently i have a evo with an catback, K&N cone intake, and a AMS Boost controller. Frankly its been a real pain trying to keep my boost from dropping. I was under the impression that only with a boost controller I can hold boost till redline, but that isnt the case? I was looking at the stage rev flash and it said it elminates stock boost taper.
With the AMS Boost controller I peak @21 psi but then taper to ~16 and after 6500 I drop to 14psi. I had my car brought in to AMS and paid 150 bucks for a boost leak test and I still taper. Frankly I don't feel like *****ing at AMS and instead am looking for another solution.
With a hallman MBC and a stage rev reflash will I be able to hold boost? Will it match with the minimal mods that I have now? Thanks for your help.

my friend just had that done by WORKS i beileve you need anew boost hose and ECU flash because (im no expert)theres a pill or ball in our stock hose thats weighted and chokes our boost out at somewhere around 5700 then youll hold desired boost you should also get hardpiping on your turbo system before you blow a hose off because of your high bars
I have the Blitz SBC-id boost controller and have NO boost taper... 21 psi all the way through... good luck!

i found it depends on how it is hooked up.
i just put in a new turbo and now i'm tapped off the compressor housing to the boost controller to the wastegate and i get a little bit of taper...but i've been messing with the boost controller a little to make it work harder
so it could be the boost controller, last night after the install it was tapering from 20 to 16
today with some slight changes on my manual it now stays to redline or drops maybe a lb. i don't recall having this issue when i was tapped off the bov line

yeah... about that spring, they installed that as well. Ended up costing 4 bucks for a tiny spring :P But yeah, thats in there already. Where is the pill? Maybe mine is still in there. Can anyone post a pic of where it might be? I was assuming that the hoses I got in the kit took care of that though.

I am assuming you are the gentleman that came in here on thursday to have your stock intake put back in. You said you were having problems with the car but I dont remember you mentioning anything about the boost tapering off like that. If you are unhappy with our boost controller please feel free to bring it and I will get you a full refund. As far as the boost leak test goes we normally charge 68 for a full test including fixing the leaks. In your case because you were having such a hard time I only charged you half of that ($34) the $150 bill was for everything you had done that day. I am sorry if your car is reacting the way it is. Honestly once people switch to the heavier spring I have seen no problems. Sounds like there is another underlying problem with your car. Best of luck to you and once again if you are unhappy with a product we sold you please feel free to bring it back.
