also what else needs changing, I read somewhere that the Maf needs rescaling???
I am considiring converting my 1998 Evo 5 rs to E85 as we have it almost everywhere here in Ireland,

I don't think other peoples maps are going to be all that helpful. Just force the car into open loop, adjust the injector scaling until the car idles/cruises at 14.7. Then let the car used closed loop again and use a datalogger with a wideband to tune the boost areas just like you would with gas while incrementally increasing the boost until you're happy with the tune

thanks for the reply Merkzu,
the penny finally dropped with this one I thought everyone was rescaling there maps to 9.7 for E85 totally forgot about the closed loop side of things,
anyway thats why ye use 1000cc injectors scaled to 609cc for a given PWM the ecu delivers the injectors will flow more fuel giving the extra fuel needed,
anyway The thing that was putting me off was the fact of having an AFR so lean as 14.7 on a fuel thats stoichiometric ratio is 9.7 in closed loop,
but I guess its not an issue just pull some timing in the lo load areas for idle and cruising,

14.7 on a gas wideband is stoich for E85 as well, 1 lambda

yes of course, the sensor is just measuring the ammount of oxygen in the exhaust stream it doesnt know the fuel is E85 or normal gasoline, so when it sees all the oxygen burnt it sends out the relevant voltage for stoich which is 14.7 or 1 lambda, excellent

BTW whats the best way to force openloop??
I tried to up the min temp for closed loop ??

Ok, I am burning off the rest of the 91 oct in my tank right now. 1000cc injectors, Walbro 255lph pump, and boost controller. Car idles and runs great on pump gas. Just wanted to double check a couple of my assumptions.

After I fill up with E85 can I just lower the injector size by 30% and check and see how things are running or are there additional steps involved?

I have an evo IX, does it go into open loop when I flash? How do you force closed/open loop?
