changing maps?

I've been trying to search for an answer but haven't found it explained anywhere (I'm probably not searching the right keywords). Is there anyway to switch between an e-85 map and a 93 map without having to lug a laptop around with you. There is an e-85 station about 15 mins from me but if I'm not by there when I need fuel and don't have my computer it would be nice to be able to flip a switch and fill up with 93 if there is a way. Thanks in advance.

Absolutely. Works like a charm. Search for Tephra mod over in the ECUflash sub-forum. I have a 91 gas map and an E85 map, and can switch between them with my I/C spray switch. Very nice.

E85 added 75 whp and 130 trq. Best mod I've done. You will love it.

Thank you very much! Is it pretty easy to do, or would I be better off having a professional wire it up? I love the idea of e-85 and the station that has it is actually pretty close to my work, but if I decide to take a trip or am stuck farther away it's just nice to be able to switch back and forth. Thanks again

What year EVO? If you have an VIII, then no wiring is necessary. If you have a IX, then JackofTrades sells a switch kit.

Hey, whats with this shooting hybrids nonsense anyway? You'll notice a Prius in my fleet. I don't take kindly to pot shots.

haha the hybridshooter name came from an old hybrid snare drum (construction of part wood and the other part acryic) that when I used everyone used to tell me it sounded like a gunshot because of the volume and crack. I just use the same name on every forum, and that one stuck from years ago on a drum forum. So no worries, your prius is safe.

instructions on how to wire up the toggle switch. If you want to purchase a harness you can buy it here as well

I'm in North Carolina. Can someone recommend a person that can give me a hand with this. I need to check my sprayer switch (not working at the moment and hope the problem is a fuse - it's seen its fair share of coffee spills). Thanks.

I have read that some people tweak the latencies with E85 as well. The map switching does not allow you to run seperate latencies correct? Only seperate scalings?

That is correct. The latencies are tweaked when running E85, but not because of the E85. The latencies are tweaked because of upgrading to larger injectors. Usually set the latencies according to mfg info for specific injectors. Whether on gas or E85 latencies will be the same. The scaling will be different for gas and E85. A Tephra modded ROM handles all of this very nicely.
