the boost on some newer evo9s are definately not 20 psi.

we have one at the shop with less than 1k that only boost 16 psi.

looks like the first mod on the evo9 should be a boost controller.

[QUOTE=-=SPECTRE=-]The verdict is in. After comparing all the tables of the 13-15 ROMs they're almost completely identical. There was one field that ECUFlash could not read on the version 13 ROM - but it did return a value on the version 14 and 15 ROMs and they were identical. The field that could not be read for the version 13 ROM was Injector Size Scaling..

Hey thanks for doing all this work. Great job.

I assume the USDM and JDM ECUs are different in their fuel maps? I could supply a JDM Evo IX map if anyone is interested.

It could be a slight Boost leak in the IC piping with is terrible for the Evo. My stock Evo VIII would NEVER get past 15PSI of boost, even a WOT dump would net me 15 PSI. I went to town on the IC clamps and BLAMO, 19psi.

I sugget anyone haveing a boost issue on a STOCK Boost shoudl try this, it picked my up 4psi and the car was MUCH faster.

I think the 1st mods should atleast include IC piping and T-Bolt Clamps.

yup, my new MR would not boost higher than 1.3 bar and neither would my buddie's who bought it from the same place, I thought it was due to the heat since it gets hotter than hell down here Vegas.

Where can I find a version 13/14 map? I'd like to test this out, maybe even get dyno proven figures given my IX RS is COMPLETELY stock and purchased July 4th '06.

Guys, CHECK YOUR IC PIPING CLAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!! For whatever reason Mistu does NOT tighten them properly from the factory, they LEAK, mine did and CONTINUED TO until I replaced them with hard piping and T-Bolt clamps. Boost is ROCK solid for thepast 2 years, do it.

Interesting. Thanks again for finding all this info!

I havent tightened one hose clamp though and my boost is rock solid at just a little over 1.5 bar after tune.

Could this be due to the different quality of gas from US to JDM market?

I found this out on my VIII. It was barely tighter than hand tighten. I swapped all clamps over to t-bolts and that's what I use on my IX and still only hit 18lbs stock boost.

I've been suspicious about my boost levels too, on my IX MR. Thanks for the tip. I'm pretty new to working under the hood, and was wondering if the IC clamps are hard to get to? Do I need to remove anything? Like the front bumper? Thanks a lot!

STart at the throttle body and work back, you have 2 right there, a couple under the Air box and then more on the lower pipe.

I datalogged the 13 map today and it works fine - I'm staying with this map on my car until I need injector scaling, then I'll go to 14 or 15. I am pretty sure with this map I'm seeing closer to 1.4 bar.
