tratrix cable and other stuff i have no idea of

ok i am getting my tune real soon. i want to use this tactrix cable thing so i can download 2 or 3 maps. im getting tuned for a few different maps. i have a few qeustions if you can help me out.

i got a laptop. what kind of port do i need to plug the cable into for the laptop. i dont no if my computer will have what the cable has.

i here about openecu and ecuflash. is that the same thing?
are there different kinds of cables for the same thing i want to do?
how do i know what softwere i got to download to make this all work right. and where do i find it. thanks guys for the help.

EvoScan is a datalogger to capture the data (and a wideband, if you're is supported). It costs $25.

EcuFlash is a free utility to download, modify, and upload your ECU maps. It's available at www.openecu.org.

Both programs use the same tactrix cable.

ok so what do i need?? tratrix calbe and evoscan??
you say wideband. i got a wideband. or am i missing the point.

when i go to that sight there are a few different things to download. should i just download it all.

Download the latest version of EcuFlash from that site.. that's all you need there. There should be a link showing you where to get the cable. EvoScan works pretty well, but only supports a couple widebands at this time.

EcuFlash is supposed to be adding logger functionality also, but I haven't heard much about that lately.

ok i got inovate lc-1 with xd16. i will download that softwere now. thanks guys for helping me set this up right.
