false Knock

Well i've narrowed down my HUGE knock in my previously perfect tune.

In an attempt to get the most out of the stock cluctch i drove it until it gave up the white ghost. The reduced friction material and warped everything and battered TOB was causing an increasing number of knock as the rpm rose (verified by running the same tune with 91 and c16)

False knock can arise as the clutch weras just an FYI for those had a good tune then started to knock. It can also account for knock on back to back pulls on higher mileage clutches.

No i just wish i we had a better idea of the Knock theory in the Stock PCM to modify the filters to ignore it.

Have you tried the teflon tape mod? I've never done it, and would not reccomend it in most cases, but if you konw your tune is good and the sensor is picking up drivetrain noise, I think you can pull it out and wrap some extra teflon tape around the threads then re-install it.

Good luck getting to it though....

I'm installing a twin carbon clutch this friday so it's no issue,

Just a heads up for anyone that might have a sudden "hiccup"
