Ecu+ & EcuFlash running on linux ....

Whats up folks,

Just wanted to throw a quick screenshot up tonight while I was working on my maps.

I'm running Gentoo Linux (amd64) with Gnome 2.16.2 and Beryl (openGL windows manager). Notice how you can make any window transparent so you can lay your map revisions on top of each other to quickly see your changes....

Anyway, I installed both Ecu+, and EcuFlash under wine and they both work great for editing / log viewing. I don't run linux on my laptop yet so I cannot comment on the full functionality under wine. Also installed AEMPro under wine. Wokring good so far..

I think the only problem you might have, is whether the Tactrix cable is detected under wine and USB interface in Linux.. that has been part of the battle.

From looking at your snapshot, it says no vehicle interface detected. So you need to get the cable itself set up properly in order to flash the ECU or Log using the MUT loggers.

Everything else looks like its working, and ECU+ software should work as it uses standard com ports which are mapped directly to the serial IO in Linux.

Agreed, I still run winblows on my laptop so I'm not too worried about getting full functionality under wine.

I'm just really stoked to get beryl running so i can actually take advantage of the nvidia opengl good ness even while I'm not gaming.

Anyway, I may give the driver install under wine a shot tonight just to see if it can be done.
