Rescaling load.. When to do?

Im looking to rescale my load today. I was wondering when exactly it is necessary. Usually the load stays around 255-265. Right after upshifts it will spike to 280 or so. More mods are on the way but is it necessary now, if not will it hurt?

what mods are you running?

I have come across a few 8's that needed to be rescalled, most of those had an aftermarket intake and I suspect that to be main reason they were hitting loads over 260. FWIW with mysetup (stock airbox) hks272's and about 23-24psi peak, i never hit over 260 load.

I even worked on an 8 with an FP evo green running 25psi and it did not break 260 load, but his freind with a different intake was hitting 280+ with the same turbo at lower boost.

Rescale when you need to though, if are infact falling off the map, scale it so you have more control.

03 GSR, 10.5 hotside ported, stock x mani ported, Buschur delux FMIC with upper and lower pipes, no airbox ebay filter, ebay o2 housing, walbro255, 3"tbe,

After that post, turned the boost up to 21 or so and regularly read 280 and 290. Spiking well over 300 after shifts. So I suppose Its time to rescale.

You rescale when your ECU overshoots your maximum load bin by 20 or so units or greater. My brother's 03 hits loads of 300+ at around 3500 rpm and 22 psi. Before we rescaled, he would occasionally have issues with what seemed like "spark blowout" and obviously at peak torque the car would occasionally feel inconsistant. Since I rescaled and retuned him, the car pulls like a damn freightrain and there's no more misfire either.
