MBC needed higher boost on ECU Flash

I going to get tuned very soon by Tuning Technologies. They recommended me to buy a MBC to control boost however I just bought a Perrin EBCS. If I'm going to be runnign about 22psi do I need to purchase a MBC or can the ECU handle it.

Do you mean as I think you do, will the ECU be able to use the Perrin EBCS and allow more than 22 psi? Yes becuase it has larger bleed ports. I havent personally messed around with it because a bleed valve was easier and cheaper, and I still use the BCS (with WG-DC/BDL maps) to control boost.

Just removing the stock restrictor pill is all thats really needed to get over 20-21 psi at peak torque and taper to 22 by redline. Your results may vary somewhat.

What is BCS?

I dont have to much knowledge with ECU flash.

My question is can the ECU control boost good for 22psi through the flash. I have read a little about the thread "How to Control boost with the ECU" but I'm a little lost

The reason they probably recommended a MBC is because it is easier to set it and tune, then tune the ECU controllored boost and then tune. Tuning the ECU controlled boost can take quite some time and a lot of runs. A MBC can be setup in 5 or less runs and is very simple and fast.

If you want to have ECU controlled boost and be tuned by them, i suggest this.

Buy (or borrow) a MBC. Let TT set up the MBC and tune the car. Take boost logs of the tuned car (using a MAP sensor (not a boost gauge)). Go home, reinstall ECU controlled boost, setup boost exactly as they had it set, using the boost logs. since the boost will be the same, the tune should be fine and you will have ECU controlled boost and no MBC.

BCS means Boost Control Solenoid.
