knock questions

The reason you will get knock on different runs is because the burn of the fuel/air mixture in the cylinder is not the same for every cycle. Some times the burn is efficient clean and total and some times it is not leaving pockets of unburnt unignited air/fuel to iginite on its own under pressure/heat. This shows up on your log as knock sum.
You are not going to get the same burn of the mixture in the cylinder all the time. That is the nature of the internal combustion engine.

The whole piont of this therad was to try to undersatnd why under the *same* condison 1 log would have NO knock and the next time I get 8 counts ?? I spent a long time looking at both logs and the only thing i could see that differed was the "MAPAFR" on evoscan . On the log with the knock it looks like it "MAPAFR" didnt ramp up as quick as they did on the log with out knock ??
