Vista and OBD2 Scantech issue

Ok I use to use the old version of obd2 scantech (before the tactrix option was in the drop down box) with windows xp pro and it worked fine. Now that I have Windows Vista and I installed the new download from aktive matrix I cannot get it to connect. I tried the jeff protocol, the tactrix cable option. Selected the correct comport. The only thing I can think of is that I am using the wrong baudrate, which is by default at 9600. Has anyone got obd2scantech to work with Vista?

No I haven't tried it yet with Vista, I'm not exactly expecting it to work right because of the Older VB components that its dependent on.

I think the baud rate for OBD-II is 10500 or something like that..

I guess I will try to adjust the baudrate then. It seems to open just fine, just when trying to connect I get an error

I'm thinking the problem may be the component used for serial communications may not be working properly in Vista.. But until someone can verify it works one way or the other in vista its just speculation. Older VB6 packages may have problems due to the dependencies on old components that don't work 100% predictably. So we'll see, I haven't done any serious research on it. I really didn't expect to have Scantech start getting used on Vista, I was hoping to have something converted to VB.NET by now.. But I don't at the moment and won't have the time for awhile.

Unfortunately Vista is here to stay.. So eventually we're all going to have to work through these issues.. Hopefully I'll have some time to get a copy installed and figure out what exactly it is doing.

Vista is kinda hard to resist though because it is just so beautiful and for multimedia app's the draw distance and 3d rendering is great. Like Malibujack says also though Vista is here for another at least 5yrs so might as well get use to it.
