Possible to log CAM timing?

Is there a request ID for logging intake cam timing on the IX?

I was wondering that the other day. I assume that no one knows how or else it would be something commonly discussed here. Some input would be helpful though.

When I installed my cams, I took the entire clutch thing apart on the intake cam since I couldn't find a 14mm hex head. I'm pretty sure I put it back together correctly, but I just want to verify that it is correctly adjusting timing. There has to be some way of reading the timing, since the ECU has to have some sort of feedback signal to make sure timing is correct.

Could I just hijack the signal right off the CAS and log that through the spare ZT-2 input I have? Anyone know what type of signal the CAS is?
