Anyone running 280 cams without P0300 code?

I have BC 280's and I have no code....Even before the cams I still never threw a code and I have an 03'. I dont know what to tell you sir....

I dropped idle timing back off to stockish ~5 and still got it... dunno what else to try.

Go back to a 7 heat range plug and make sure that its protuding to. The colder the plug and the more removed from the chamber the higher the chance of a missfire. You might want to separate the cam centres too - might give you a bit more dynamic compression.

Are those cams pretty lopey? What's the intake and exhaust lift on those?

Yes they are very lopey...heres a video!



The intake lift is 10.80mm's and exhaust is 10.36mm's.....

Try using a plug without the protruding tip. I havent gotten a P0300 in I cant remember how long now. Go with BR7ES or BR8ES. These work way better in my car than the protruding tipped plugs

This is ridiculous advice with no technical merit.

Do not switch to 9 range plugs. If anything, warmer range plugs would improve ignition, not colder.

So far, almost 2 weeks and no code . It would always come back after a day or two after clearing it in the past. I'm not sure if switching the plugs did it or adding more fuel and more timing at idle or both. I hope it stays gone permanent.
