431whp Stock turbo E98

Well went down to HPF for the dyno day. Wish I would just have gone to PIR but oh well.

Anyway the car picked up a huge 2hp and 19ft lbs over E85. Meaning I don't need the extra oct of the E98 on 400hp car. My timing # are still plain crazy for a EVO.

I was just happy to know the car is at the same hp now for the last few mons with noting changing and over 5k in mi of extreme abuse.

Thought some of you guys who tune your stuff might want to check this log out.

If you guys look at my 429hp run I feel the hp drop on my 431hp is due to the fact that its was my 3rd back to back pull and the Extra timing I could run in the under 6k area really make more power but any more timing past 6k no matter what the the oct does not make any more power so the car being hot is why the hp drop is much more than my 429whp. I guess the only reason this a cooler dyno # is the TQ is better.

Congrats on the numbers!

Do you think your LoadCalc is accurate? Why not log 2-byte?

I am still at 513 so I think it should be right.

Really have not taken the time to mess with the 2-byte yet. For me when tuning I know ware I am in my map buy timing # so it has not been that big of a concern to me.

Can you post the whole log with IPW, airflow and time and stuff?

Timing doesnt look insane at all, just several * high at mid 5000's, what was the O2?

Thanks

Was it getting a boost spike to time it flat at 4000 RPM ? Would you have the whole log by chance with airflow (2 byte better yet)? Also, what kind of boost contol is in use?

I'm just trying to get a picture here for your interesting approach to the timing ramp. I'm guessing the WG is welded which would be , and the timing is following the spike and taper in boost

Thanks

Damn, that is some amazing powerband. I really wish that juice was more readily available.

Ethanol is by far a superior fuel than petrol (pump, xylene, toluene, c16, ect) in every respect, rate of burn remains stable over all pressure ranges, and of course octane with 100% being equivalent to 120oct I think. You can easily get away with 0.84 O2 so burn it lean all the way.

I'm just slightly curious on the timing profile - if he added it sequentially here and there until power quit showing up and pulled it at peak to 0 for knock reasons. If done so (disregarding the latter) then expect this to be the typical ideal level of timing for ethanol burn which is way I'm asking the questions regarding him posting the whole log file, if not then I will respect that as well but it would be my loss.

Yeah, but conventional thinking would suggest that if a boosted application needs to run south of gasolines max rich of 0.85, same would be applicable to at least some degree with E85, which has it's max rich at 0.72.
0.87 is E85's max lean, that's why i'm a bit scared to bring it up there.

Lucas is the only one i know who's got it this lean..
