help with ecu swap

if i am taking all of the parts off of my freinds evo and putting them onto mine besides cams then can i just swap my ecu with his because his was already tuned to fit everthing thats going on my car

Hi

The immobilizer code will be diffrent. Why not copy the maps, not the whole ROM, from one to the other? Would most likly be quicker than sodding about the ECU and loom.

Swapping maps would be the easiest way, especially if the ECU ID's are different. Even still, if the ECU ID's are different, you would have to copy/paste the actual maps from one to the other, even more so if it's like an 03 vs. an 05, where the scalings and what not are different. (If memory serves me correctly.)

Plus, if the car was tuned, the map scaling is probably different, if it was done by a decent tuner I would think.
