more boost or more timing?
Hey guys!
I would like to get people to give there experience and results on this topic.
Did you make more power with More timing and less boost or with more boost and less timing???
I know this subject has been talked about before but i feel it never really got to a solid conclusion!

Exactly. Start by adding a little timing over the stock map then add some boost. Repeat as needed. When you reach knock back up a step and figure out why it happened than try to tune around it. If you cant tune around it then you have reached the end....Or need to buy more parts.
if your on pump, i would shoot for 23-24. boost will taper & adjust your timing accordingly.
i go for 23-24 psi on 91. it makes more power than 21/22 psi with more timing. the power is based off of car acceleration / et compares.

28 psi and 20* make my car happy
I'd go with setting boost to where you want it and then go about setting afr's to where you want them, then tuning timing and then go about changing variables till you hit the perfect set up for your car.

Just a thought as I am no tuning wiz, but wouldn't one want to put the turbo in its best efficency range(whichever it is, according to the compressor map) then tune timing after your AFR's are set. Then this would allow maximum flow without the heat of pushing outside the efficencies of that specific turbo.
