Thumbs down ECUFlash Fails to read my Evo map!!! Help Please!!!

Hey Guyz,

I'm facing a "weired" problem! When I connect my laptop to my Evo console port using "Tactrix" cable and try to read the ECU map it gives an error showen own in the attachment!

Keeping in mind that I've done the steps right "I think" plus I've ran a test, kept the engine running the tried to read, the engine stopped running and the software fails too to read the map giving the same error...

Appreciate your help...

I have to use the unlocker everytime I flash. But it seems to work.

you can unlock the rom by changing the init code to 0001. that way you only need to use the unlocker once... once it is changed to 0001 you'll never need to use it again.

^^THANKS!!!

I had no clue...

Sorry for the OT, but what is the purpose of the init code?

Im assuming the imobilzer is the ECU ID, is the init just a signature of the "tuner?"

thx again

Thank you all for whom Participatied and just passed by this thread...

Another try we have done last night, we took out the ECU from the car and pulged it into another Evo then tried to read, and it read it well and tuned a bit and wrote back to the ECU unpluged it and repluged into my car again...

I assume its wiring thing, but @ the same time when we ran the first test when we kept the engine running then start to read the engine stop running, which me the wiring is fine!!!!! I know kinkda weired!!!!

Help me out as I need to tune the car with my mods for next month "AutoCross"

Thanks again,

unless I'm missing something, you don't have the motor running when you try to read or flash, you do have the ignition ON.

make sure your plugs are connected as well as they can be., don't have any loggers running on your computer while you try to use ecuflash.

Thanks for your post...

We let the motor running for test purpose, I know that I have to turn the igintion on only. We checked all cables and they were pluged well and no logger are running only ECUFlash!!!

I'm afraid that the car harness is damaged!!! hope not!!!

Help please...

IXs are know for being a bit temperamental when reading the the ROM, this can be due a low battery, the wiring to the white plug on the Tactrix cable or the car.

He's talking about one of the portable jumpstart boxes that you can use instead of jumper cables.
