GM 3 Bar Map Sensor
GM 3 Bar Map Sensor
Is there anyway to get one of these to work over the JDM Map? They are cheaper and readily available over the jdm units. I would think there has to be someway to do it since people have the GM boost solenoid working with the stock computer.
From what I found dsmlink also allows you to use the GM 3-bar map sensor....which tells me there has to be a way for evos to work because they are similar.

So has anyone attempted this or even tried it....or have a logical explanation on why this wouldnt work? I wish I had the skills to do this kind of stuff but i dont.

Well thank you.....but i did search. I searched this forum only, i searched "advanced" with titles only. Seems GM because its so short doesnt seem to fit the criteria in the search field. Sorry if I missed something but I searched for a good while mostly just stuf on the jdm one. I even did google as well, and didnt come across anything with significance.....Which is what im looking for.
i did come across some info that the gm sensor at 5.00v is like 31.xx psi. So if you can get the voltage of the GM sensor to match the voltage of the jdm would it in thoery work? I know even in honda ecu programs (chip burning) they have them working with a GM 3 bar map sensor as well.
I know on the GM 3port boost solenoid you add a resistor, is that to make the voltage match the stock so the ecu thinks its the factory sensor?
Sorry like i said im not good with this stuff and I cant believe that it works in 2G's with dsm link but wouldnt work on the evo. Nor has anyone tried it? I just think using parts that are less expensive and more readily available makes more sense then waiting months at a time for higher priced jdm units to be shipped in.

well I am going to purchase what the honda boys are using, from here much cheaper and you can mod a failed sensor internally and put this inside to work.

a 4bar motorola map sensor. Smaller than a quarter and supposely idles better than the gm map. There is also a 2.5 and a 3 bar available. I requested a 4 bar though. I am going to try and get it to work with logworks first though.
