Currently logging boost with motorola 3bar

OK I finally was able to test the motorola 3bar map sensor and it worked fine. I will post a couple of logs once I get boost dialed in again. I was using a 3yr old gm boost solenoid and it was making weird noises and it would not let me over 16psi. As soon as I put a new one on today without any changes to the map i hit 280 load and the motorola 3bar reads 26psi. I left the egr enabled and kept the same settings for the egr across the board as what the jdm sensor used. As far as voltage. I put my own voltage readings in from what I tested on the sensor and they seemed to work. +- 1 psi maybe. Not bad for a measly 25.00 bucks.

I also drove around on it yesterday and today and no check engine light. I measured resistance also and the stock sensor is slightly higher by .24 somewhere around there.

I really hope this works out. A readily available MAP replacement would be welcomed, especially at such a price. I'm sure Mrfred is tired of importing them anyway ... =)

Ok here is a log. I got anxious after finding out what my boost issue was, dam gm solenoid, glad it was cheap. Anyways I attached a log of boost with the motorola 3bar. By the way they make a 4bar also for you high boosters lol.
I think it is reading about 1psi too high. But for me it is just a measuring tool and only 25 bucks haha.

Is this a direct bolt-on to USDM MAP sensor mounting location? Do you need a different connector?

Also, where did you get it.

No you have to wire it in to the harness, 3 wires, +5, ground, and +5signal. I can actually make it direct bolt on if I can find an extra mdp sensor, but have not been able to locate one for myself yet.

Part# is MPXH6300A 3bar and there is a MPXH6400A 4bar available also

If you can solder you can get it for 25.00 bucks sensor and pcb board, if you cannot it is 45 bucks already soldered. http://www.xenocron.com/catalog/electronics-c-36.html

You can buy them in bulk for about 14.00 bucks each at mouser.com or freescale.com w/o pcb board and it is also the same sensor used for this map sensor http://shop.vems.hu/catalog/product_...8fdf2e90e8179a

all datasheet info is here http://www.freescale.com/files/senso.../MPXH6300A.pdf

Keep us updated on the CEL staying out...

I may order one of these and see if I can figure out the voltage scaling if I can find a calibrated pressure source, using mrfred's work as a template (I hate using someone else's work...I feel like a mooch. ) I have my old USDM map senor that I may try to mount it in.

Good find

You need an extra stock MDP sensor? You can have mine if you want.

Yea I feel the same way, but its not like I am trying to sell anything or make a profit from someones work that would be a different scenario, I am just trying to give back to the community in anyway possible and that has given so much. I feel good if I can contribute anything at all. We are all here to help each other out as far as I know hopefully lol.

Yeah ... everyone here is riding coat tails in one way or another. When it really comes down to it, we're just taking advantage of what Mitsu engineers built to begin with. Also, I don't think Mitsu designed the first ECU with a flashable ROM, so they aren't even the end of the chain.

I consider myself a very ethical person and I see nothing wrong with a joint effort to create tuning options for the good of the community.

You guys keep doing what you do and I'll keep learning from it ...
