If we have some logs and dyno sheets to compare to, then we could nail down a relatively good equation. However, it will be simply a guide, a rough estimate, like most of the calculations. Timing and AFR will alter the true torque and horsepower given the same amount of mass airflow.

Running Kreionic's log through Evoscan's power calculator is showed 348 @7400 and 313 ft lbs at 5600.

PM me email and I will send you the logs I have so far. I will go get some of my own car as soon as it dries out here.

Well, I am referring to an actual dyno (and it's associated log), not a calculated one from EvoScan or DLL, etc. And I would like to see the curves and see if the g/rev curve matches torque and the lbs/min curve matches HP. (Alhtough, even a calculated plot would do at this time, just to see how closely they relate.)

Also, in reference to the taper in your post before: that should automatically be accounted for in the mass airflow/rev value and the mass airflow value. Any taper in airflow, due to either tapering boost or tapering volumetric efficiency will already be inherent in the mass airflow/rev value, due to the calculations that go into it.

Edit: Is that log on the last page Kreionic's log? If so, mind putting up a screenshot of the HP/trq curves that EvoScan shows?

JB I also have more logs of the c12 on the dynomite dyno that I did about a month after the mustang pulls , as well as a few more logs on the mustang dyno. I can send you those along with the dyno sheets. I just dont have the added stuff in evoscan in those logs.

Tom Collins has developed new ECU+ software that will alow MUT logging of 2 byte load and of course the ECU+ does MAF Hz already. When I get the new version I'll post up some data, helpfully ECU+ can export its reading to csv and all at 25 samples a second.

For those of you who don't know what ECU+ can do, here's a couple of links.

Screen shot http://www.ecuplus.com/winshot10-l.jpg

Features http://www.ecuplus.com/features.htm

The latest version allows MUT logging, NLTS launch control and rather a lot more.

Sure thing-

By the by, the correction factor in the xml for a Mustangesque reading would be 9.15 based on Kreionic's 351/351 dyno rather than the 10 I am using to simulate something like a Dynojet.

I looked at the logs and dyno plot that you sent me. The g/re curve seems to match up pretty well, except that it diverges a bit from true torque as the RPMs increase. So, this also causes HP to diverge as RPMS get higher.

So, in a true HP plot from the DYNO, the HP peaks and then drops, where looking at the mass airflow curve, it usually peaks at or very near the end. I noticed that some other HP calculations tend to do the same thing. There may be another relationship on the divergence, but I think I'm done with 'calculated' values for now.

I think it's safe to say that we do have some pretty good data now, though, for rough estimations of mass airflow, HP, etc. Trying to make it perfect or match exactly may just drive us nuts.

I totally agree on being driven nuts. My goal was a better and easier to use version of what Evoscan does with the power calculator. I figured if we had a rough guesstimate of power that you can compare from one log to the next you can at least get an idea of what happens when you make a change. Realistically it wont be accurate without code like what you posted from DSMlink added to it, but I didnt plan to get that involved just yet. Thanks again for looking at the data though.

This is the 3 comparisons I have .. there's still the GT3071 to go ..

Sorry about the RS ..didn't manage to log the car with the airflow
Clipped for upload and rename the zip to .csv

I love the JDM RS turbo for the spooltime and the power it makes

note it's the 155mgC so it's smaller.. have another 16mgC somewhere .. but totally stock ..
