Take a look at this screenshot, 94170015 rom ID

Sorry for making another post about this POS rom ID, but this must be one of the few forums that won't let you edit your thread titles.
Here is the rom, 94170015 ID that was on my car. Here in the picture is one of my issues. Will I be ok if I modify just the load values (which look really low to me for some reason) and leave the rpm values alone? Yes, the number at the far corner of the graph is 300000 rpm. Every other rom I tried opening comes up fine, this is the only one (figures ) that shows like this. I tried returning to the original 9417008 ID and got the SES light after about 45 minutes. I checked it out with Scan-Tech and sure enough, P0300 code made an appearance 6 times in my total of 1.5 hours of driving, and another one sitting in pending codes. Needless to say I don't want to deal with that.

first of all - sort out your endian - that should fix up those RPM values!

you using 1.33 so edit your XML and change endian="little" to endian="big"

then reload ecuflash and post up a new screenshot

I checked all the endians, and they're all set on "big". I'll try to find an older version and see if that works instead. Thanks.

No dice...removed all of the previous version and installed 1.29a and the tables are still screwed up. I even tried switching the endian's around on that version also, still not working.

Tephra-
I've looked at all the endians for all of the .xml files related to this rom (and they're ok), and also according to the address settings it's supposedly the same as the 94170008 rom (which does show up correctly with exactly the same settings). Is it possible that that's not the correct address? The load percentage might just be off due to the scaling, but as far as the rpm values goes I don't really see a pattern yet.

If I do swap back to the 0008 coding, will there be any effects of having the P0300 code listed? One thing I did notice different between the 2 roms was the lean spool...on the 0008 rom it acted as if there was none and was a little slower on the bottom rpm range. Of course the 0008 rom also hit peak boost in every gear, whereas the 0015 rom tended to start out low and ramp up as you went through the gearing. The 0015 rom also has a "Boost enhancement adv/ret" map that looks like it advances timing a hair during the lean spool process (2 tables total, probably one for high/low octane and neither of which are in the 0008 rom).

Any suggestions on what else I could try? I added on your knock cel patch to 0015 and it seems to work flawlessly, so I feel pretty confident that I can mod the .xml files with no issues, so I might try playing around with the scalers for the problem table.

Every 94170015 ROM I have seen has looked like that, in every version of EcuFlash.

Can we get a disassembly guru to fix this?

The address is 6b7e for the RPM, which it is in the other 03 roms that have correct RPM scaling. This 94170015 rom must be different than the others.

The 03's are weird...

Yeah, they're very weird. The load percentage portion of the table is correct though, only the rpm seems to be screwy. I guess you could learn to ignore it as long as there were no negative effects.
